Don’t hate us. We had to do this shop because our Art Director is just so crazy-mad about the brand, and it seems that she’s not alone. Many a person have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Zara here in Hangzhou. This means that now they no longer have to schlep all the way to Shanghai to get their catwalk copies. It’s about time this Spanish giant has made its way here. Its competitor, Mango, has been here for a while. But Zara is a bit different. For one, Zara doesn’t mass produce. They go to the shows, see the latest fashion, copy the designs, quickly produce them, and then ship them off to the stores. Zara specializes in making high-end fashion affordable, so it’s cheap to look chic. But what some people like most about Zara is that they make clothes that you can fit that JLo ass into. Sorry skinny chicks; you might have a hard time finding something here. Actually, no we’re not sorry. This is payback for all those times big-assed (or even normal-sized assed) people tried to find a pair of pants that fit in JNBY (yet another design house that loves to rip off others).
Zara’s got clothes, shoes and bags for both men and women. The women’s line favors the professionals for sure. For those not quite ready to be professional types, there’s a selection of T-shirts, shorts, jackets and things for a hipper girl in the in the smaller TRF section. The shoes, as with the rest of the clothes, aren’t the latest offering, and we’re not really keen on how they’re displayed. The Lixing Branch is a lot bigger and has all of the Zara lines than the GDA branch.
