If you have good reason to celebrate, are feeling a little lavish, or just want to reward your good midweek behaviour, then The Eatery restaurant is where you should go. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the Four Points hotel in Binjiang.
The Eatery's all-you-can-eat buffet is enough to bring the inner gluttony out of anybody, but I didn't know to what extent until I climbed the winding staircase to the circular buffet hall.
The restaurant boasts a wide range of delectable foods served at different counters. The only problem is, there's so much that you really have to restrain yourself from blowing outon your first serving. My first port of call was the seafood counter. If you, like me, want crabs the size of dinner plates, fleshy salmon steak enclosed in puff pastry and behemothking prawns so large you can feasibly use their outer coatas waterproofs during the next Hangzhouvian downpour, then this should also be yours.
There's also a number of counters manned by specialist chefs cooking fresh food. The one that I really took a liking to was the carvery. Here you're prompted toselect the cut of beef steak you'd like - including ribeye, sirloin and tenderloin - and th

e thickness you want it (or them). It's then cooked in front of you to your preference and can be served with roast potatoes and vegetables.
There are three things I particularly like about The Eatery. The first being the fact that, despite the wide range of continental foods ranging from sushi to traditional Hangzhovian dishes to a selections of deserts, including chocolate fondue, absolutely none of the quality is sacrificed. Secondly, despite holding a large attendance of diners, the restaurant remained immaculately presented. A pretty significant accolade for an all-you-can-eat buffet. And finally, buffet meals can often become repetitive, whereas The Eatery introduces a monthly range of featured dishes served every Friday from 6pm onwards. This month was the lotus and lotus root dishes, whereas August sees the introduction of a 'fish feature' which will include bigeye tuna sashimi and grilled grouper fish on alternating Fridays.
It costs 218RMB+15% service chargefor the buffet lunch, including unlimited fresh fruit juice and other non-alcoholic beverages with a glass of wine ranging from 36RMB - 200RMB. Smoking indoors isn't permitted. There is plenty of parking space available.
