Sardegna Coffee Lounge is located on Tiancheng Road, close to the Hangzhou East Railway station. The main room is a lofty space with dark wood tables and tons of soft comfy cushions to lean back on. In the rear are several small rooms thatgive a cozy feeling, like you are at your friend’s living room.
Sardegna has something you don’t often see in a coffee lounge – fish tanks for foot spa treatments. The fishes will nibble away at the dead skin on your feet leaving them clean and exfoliated. 28RMB gets you access with no time limit.
In the middle of the main room is a stage and large projection screen for performances. Movie showings on Thursdays from 10pm, live music on Fridays and Saturdays from 8-10pm.
The Chinese only menu has a large selection of drinks - coffees (28-108RMB), Chinese teas (10-88RMB), juices (28-45RMB) and Hong Kong style milk teas (38-45RMB). Alcoholic drinks available were beer, wine and cocktails. The food items recommended to us by the waitress were steaks and pizzas.
The cappuccino (卡布基诺35RMB) was expertly made and had a lovely balance of milk and coffee flavour. The caffeine content was strong enough to perk us up.
The food, however, was not so good. The steaks (88-168RMB) tastedlike they’ve been heavily treated with tenderizer powder. It had no beef flavour whatsoever. The Sardegna Pizza (沙丁岛招牌比萨58RMB) was equally tasteless. The Cream of Corn soup that came with the steaks and the Curry Fried Rice (咖喱炒饭36RMB)were the only bright spots food wise.
While the quality of the food will not draw people here, the comfy setting, excellent coffees and the ability to have a fish foot spa may interest some. Parking available in the back of the building. Did we mention the fish foot spa?
