A new Hilton hotel has just opened in Xiaoshan, just a short walk from the Binkang Road stop on the Metro Line 1 and right next to a soon-to-be opened stop on the future Metro Line 5, making the hotel a short distance from many of Hangzhou's most beautiful scenic spots. They've built up the hotel early to get a foothold in the fast-developing Xiaoshan region south of the river, adjacent to Hangzhou's Binjiang district, home of Alibaba and a hub of tech innovation in China.
Their individual rooms include soft lighting and elegant decor, private baths and perfectly soft beds making you feel pampered as soon as you open the door to your room. I arrived at 3PM and almost took a nap right then! Instead, I headed to the lobby for afternoon tea.
Just to the right of the hotel’s entrance is the Hilton Lobby Bar, offering a comfortable coffee shop and bar atmosphere for both relaxing and socializing. Fresh snacks and specialty coffees and teas are served daily there; I enjoyed a fresh Americano along with some delicious cheesecakes and sweets.
For a little more exclusivity, the elegant Executive Lounge is located on the 23rd floor of the hotel. Exclusive executive-level benefits include breakfast, afternoon tea and happy hour and an amazing, expansive view of the city and is offered to residents of the 19th-22nd floors.
On the 5th floor of the hotel is a thousand meter outdoor sky garden, a beautiful grassy field elevated away from the city but providing a gorgeous view, and is ideal for every kind of business meeting, social banquet, or exquisite wedding that wants to take advantage of a private park. It made me wish I’d brought a kite!
For indoor events, an 830 meter conference room on the 3rd floor of the hotel can accommodate 700 people. A full-time banquet butler service and a full suite of audiovisual equipment means a meeting, banquet, or wedding can be comfortably held inside or out.
The Hilton’s Qingya Chinese Restaurant is an ideal choice for guests to dine in. The professional culinary team is particularly good at Cantonese and Jiangnan cuisine and they have a variety of classic dishes that incorporate Xiaoshan local foods and features. The restaurant features eight private rooms, and the oriental design combines tradition with modernity to provide guests with a unique experience when dining. We were treated to an elegant nine-course dinner including delicious braised beef, a delicate matsutake soup, and a fantastic steamed grouper.
The western buffet restaurant on the first floor offers a sumptuous selection of fresh seafood from all over the world combined with local high-quality organic ingredients. The chefs cook the food in front of you with an expert flourish and is served daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For children or adults feeling young, a colorful play area is set off to the side of the buffet restaurant, offering respite from children for diners and a convenient way to safely monitor kids for parents.
Hilton offers quiet and comfortable rooms and suites a convenient distance from the Xiaoshan airport. With desks and high-speed internet, the hotel is well-equipped for business travelers and their tower offers a beautiful and relaxing view of the city. Their hotel boasts 297 deluxe rooms and suites, two restaurants, a lobby bar and facilities including a 5th floor fitness center, an elegant 25-meter indoor heated swimming pool (Opening Hours: 6am - 10pm), and a relaxing jacuzzi. It’s a perfect choice for visitors of Hangzhou.
