It’s hard to judge a book by its cover. Unless, of course, that cover is emblazoned with the name, Dan Brown. Then it’s safe to light on fire and throw in the toilet, which you should do, but what does this have to do with Hangzhou’s newest pizza place? Well I’m glad you asked. And by, “you,” I mean, “me.” Because when you read this the pronoun assignments reverse. I’ll give a moment collect yourself, considering I just blew your mind.
If you weren’t looking for Pizza Inn, located on Dongpo Road, barely a half block north of McDonald’s, you’d walk right past it, which is a shame because the sign they’ve hung to announce their presence on one of Hangzhou’s busiest tourist streets has about all the allure of brown corduroy slacks. It simply does not do this place justice. It belies what is one of the nicest interiors we’ve seen in a new restaurant in a while. It’s roomy, clean, comfortable, well-lit, and replete with a full bar and open kitchen so the kids can have fun watching their food get prepared by their staff of experienced chefs.
Anybody familiar with this Texas-based chain knows pizza is just one of a number of yummy offerings on their expansive menu. There are so many, in fact, it can be hard to decide. Fortunately, for 168RMB, they have a lunch special where you can try everything on the menu, which is exactly what we did. The portions aren’t as big as if you order them a la carte, but considering you can have anything, including drinks, all for one price, it makes for a great deal. On our trip we gorged ourselves on the following (prices in parentheses are a la carte): 8” thin crust Meaty Max (58RMB), 8” thick crust Veggie Max (49RMB), Grilled Shrimp Salad (78RMB), Melon wrapped in Parma Ham drizzled with Olive Oil (68RMB), Deep Fried Rice Balls (48RMB), Fried Tiger Prawns and Sole Fillet (88RMB), Beef Tenderloin (118RMB), Seared Salmon in Salsa Verde w/ Roasted Potatoes (95RMB and a little too fishy for some), and Grilled Lamb Chops (116RMB). Everything was good to great with the highlights being the tenderloin and lamb.
We washed it all down with a pineapple smoothie (25RMB), a Lychee Yogurt (28RMB), and a couple of Stella Artois; the two former being light, fresh, and delicious, and the latter being beer, which is always good. So if you’re looking for a place to stuff yourself on a bevy of tasty options, without dropping a lot of money, give Pizza Inn a try today.

What in the world does Dan Brown's books have to do with pizza at your place. Your article was a real turn off. Your opinions and bad writing aside, your lack of respect is a good enough reason never to come to your establishment. A lot of people may like Dan Brown's work. Did you ever think about that?
Don't throw out the pizza with the bath water! (shanghai'd expat) 2012-02-17 16:25:22 Those idiotic ramblings are from from More's reviewer & have no connection with anyone at Pizza Inn. Their pizza is pretty decent so give it a try.
