This popular café has opened with a new and impressive menu. Nestled inside Xihu Tiandi, stop by for a quick bite this summer – you won’t regret it!
We started off with the Japanese Beef Mushroom and Asparagus Salad (日式牛肉蘑菇芦笋沙拉, 57RMB). With fresh crunchy vegetables, the tangy sauce was light and seasoned the beef well. We were impressed with the Avocado Egg Fala Rolls (牛油果鸡蛋法式卷, 47RMB) and Avocado with Ham Tapas (牛油果火腿, 37RMB). Although both were small portions, they were great as a light snack.
From 9am – 3pm the café also offers brunch options. We chose the European Classic Breakfast (欧式早餐, 47RMB) and were presented with a generous plate of toast, bacon, chicken sausages, scrambled eggs, baked beans, fried tomatoes, asparagus and fresh seasonal fruit – great for sharing or to fill your belly after a night on the town. If you are in need of a detox, then try one of the scrummy fruit juices (蔬果汁, 37RMB); you really are spoilt for choice. The Kiwi, Mint and Apple Juice and the Apple, Pineapple and Lemon Juice were both cleansing to the pallet. Finally, we couldn’t resist their recommended Madagascar Vanilla Mousse (马达加斯加香草慕斯, 35RMB), a light and fluffy dessert with a mango surprise in the centre.
The service was efficient and the staff very helpful. The menu is in both Chinese and English, so ordering was pain free, leaving us time to relax and enjoy the sunshine. With coffees and a small selection of other beverages on offer too, you will find it easy to make time in your schedule for the Xie Xie Café & Foods.
