The Azure Qiantang, a Luxury Collection Hotel has opened in Hangzhou along the Qiantang River. This new luxury hotel presents a blend of simplicity, elegance, and contemporary design created by the world-renowned architect Pierre-Yves Rochon. The blue glass building compliments the Qiantang River, which can be viewed from the sleek Riverview Terrace on the 22nd Floor. Here guests can sip divinely delicious cocktails that transport you to a beach in Hawaii.
There are two excellent culinary experiences available in the new hotel. One is the Lan Ting Chinese Restaurant and the other is the Panorama Restaurant & Bar where guests can enjoy an enticing buffet with prime views of the lovely Qiantang River. The view echoes that of the Bund, with guests looking out over the water to the twinkling lights of Hangzhou. After enjoying the buffet, the whole experience is topped off by an azure blue cocktail on their Riverview Terrace.
The buffet includes handmade sushi, and made to order sashimi. The octopus sashimi was extremely tender and melted in the mouth. Scallops, sea snails, king crab legs, baby lobster, snow crab, shrimps, oysters, and special steamed Zhejiang hairy crabs are all available here. Many authentic Hangzhou dishes are presented with precision. Noodles are hand-pulled for each order, then added to a savory broth with your choice of ingredients. Western menu items are limited to pasta, salad, and grilled meats for the carnivores. The desserts include sweet pink frosted cupcakes, gummy candies, and petite jewel-like desserts, along with ice cream, and a chocolate fountain. Beer, soda, and fresh juice are included in the buffet price, which is 408RMB (+15% service charge) per person at dinner, and a mere 118RMB (+15% service charge) for lunch.
The lunch offerings, it should be mentioned, is a bit more modest and features fewer dishes -- hence the lower price. With a view of the world-famous Qiantang, this venue would be a good choice for a business lunch.
Parking is available and smoking is not allowed.
Located on East Wangjiang Road near the Xixing Bridge, the new Azure Qiantang is a lovely new jewel among Hangzhou’s luxury hotels.
