Hangzhou's venerable Dragon Hotel has stood proudly for 20 years, and after undergoing a one-billion RMB facelift, it's poised to give the other upscale venues some serious competition. In this instance, we're talking about their daytime buffet, which will blow you away. After walking through the large, well-lit lobby of the hotel, visitors find themselves in an equally spacious, and bright, dining room that immediately makes an impression. There is a vast array of food on display, and it wouldn't make sense to try to fit it all in this story, so instead we'll give some highlights, and let you judge for yourself as you sample the goods when you stop in for a visit. Our personal pick for round one featured a few shavings of the cured Prosciutto, as well as some freshly-grated Parmesan cheese, which was displayed as a massive wheel with the contents scooped out and grated for convenience. Personally, I'd recommend anyone to come to this venue just to see it, because it's an amazing thing to behold. Second round: We found ourselves drawn to the Roasted Sirloin Steak, cooked a perfect medium-rare, and also to the house-baked breads that filled the air with their wholesome aroma. For the third round, we made a trip to the Japanese/Seafood counters, and found everything from a variety of Sushi, Sashimi, oysters, crab, and some cured classics like the Cold-Smoked Whitefish. Finally, the time came for dessert, and we must warn you: It's not an easy choice. When faced with, made from scratch, Carpigiani Ice Cream, incredible Chocolate Fondue, and a complete assortment of sauces, nuts, and sprinkles to go with your picks, it’s hard to settle on any one thing. At just under 140 RMB, this buffet delivers a value that will undoubtedly keep customers coming back for more. If you don't delay, you'll even get tree-lined outdoor seating on a clear 25°C day, which, quite frankly, made me want to stay there until dinner time!

138RMB for lunch, 258RMB+15% for dinner.
