Nine teams from home and abroad will surf on the so-called “Silver Tides” from Sept. 13th to 16th. World top surfers, Dean Morrison, Eneko Acero, Kyle McGeary and Made Garut Widiarta will participate in the event.

Dean Morrison, who is the champion of Australia and European Division of World Men's Shortboard Surfing Championship Tour. He is one of the most celebrated Australian surfers of the modern era, finishing a career best ninth in 2007. In the water Dean is a pocket dynamo, known for his compact, fluid style and sublime cutback. On land his humility and good nature ensure he is the kind of pro surfer who is approachable for people from all walks of life.

Eneko Acero, one of the most important and influential surfers of Spain and Europe. At that time it was just him on a worldwide tour with surfers from all over the place but his hometown/country. Still today, Eneko is surfing in a daily basis, manages a team of an international brand and of course proudly holds the surname Acero, a surfing family you might heard of from him, his older brother Iker Acero or the charismatic Kepa Acero.

Kyle McGeary, Team (NSSA) champion surfer, he is an underground local surfer from Huntington Beach, California. "Never heard of Kyle? Then you probably don't surf the pier, because if you did, you'd see him hucking big rotators everyday."

Made Garut Widiarta, born and raised in Kuta he started surfing at the age of 9 at his home break Half Ways, Garut is one of the most recognizable Indonesian surfers in the world and he has received more high profile attention in the media than any Indonesian surfer since Rizal Tanjung. Is name is I Made Widiarta a.k.a Garut.

The top local surfers will also participate on behalf of Chinese National Surfing Team. Surfing in the Qiantang River has only been allowed since 2008. During the competition, surfers will follow the tidal bore in motorboats and jet skis, and then take turns riding the waves.

Surfing will be included in the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo. The inclusion has given a boost to the sport in China, where it remains relatively new.

Hangzhou government hopes the competition can further promote the sport among citizens, especially the youth.

The competition will be broadcast nationwide by China Central Television.

Take a Quick Tour with Us!

Take a Tour at Sam's Club with Us!

Happy National Holiday, everyone!

We're pretty sure you all had a grand time celebrating this golden week with family and friends - cruising to faraway exotic vacation spots, dipping your toes into that fine white sand,  tasting good food, and finally catching up on some of the items in your bucket list.

With this long time off, we decided to take a quick tour at Sam's Club at Puxi to check out the latest happenings with our friends!

Whole rotisserie chicken gets sold 3,000+ a day!

At Sam's Club, where millions of meals were eaten, the catering area is particularly popular with its members. Many customers make it a point to go straight to the roasted food section to grab the famous rotisserie chicken!

This particular chicken gets sold more than 3,000+ a day during peak season and is a must-buy for Sam's Club shoppers.

Why? For 1.5 kg of chicken, you can already buy this at less than ¥40!

Also, only Tyson chickens, known leaders in the poultry industry as processors of live poultry from their origins, were selected. A private secret recipe was used for the marination of these chickens before being transported directly to Sam's Club stores for roasting. Sam's back kitchen is equipped with a German imported oven, which strictly controls the oven temperature and roasting time to ensure that each chicken has the same excellent taste.

Yummy Aussie beef up for grabs!

Sam's Club also prides itself with the beef it puts into the shelves - particularly the Australian beef kind. Only cereals were used to feed Australian "aboriginal cattle" for 100 days, growing in lush aquatic areas and equipped with professional dietitians from an early age.

Here at Sam's Club, beef from different parts are available to satisfy everyone's appetite, and they are pretty affordable too! Customers usually just spend less than ¥50 a piece with an average of 3 pieces in a box.

But the fun does not end there! You can taste these on the spot too, right after they are cooked in front of you!

Professional chefs randomly select steaks on the shelves, cook them on the spot and slice them into individual pieces for unlimited tasting. To highlight the advantages of steak, only salt and pepper are added in the cooking process, which does not hide the strong flavor of the beef itself, and the ripeness can also feel the temptation of popping juice.

When the steak is split, the fat part is especially removed so that every guest can have the best part.

Go ahead and line up to find out yourself how good Sam's Club beef is!

Seafood is gaining popularity!
We also found more interesting things too at Sam's Club - particularly the seafood! There are a variety of cod fillets, salmon and sablefish steaks available for purchase. Here's a little trivia though - Sam's Club does not sell live seafood, but they have frozen seafood available. This assures its customers that all displayed seafood are safe to eat as the quality of the food is better controlled when frozen.

Just looking at that colorful, high-quality fish fillets makes us crave a tasty fish and chips dinner! Yum!

12 Day Eggs!?
Another interesting find in Sam's Club is its eggs! Compare to normal eggs with a shelf life for 30 days, none of Sam's Club eggs can stay on its shelves for more than 12 days in order to keep them fresh for you. All eggs are tested already for salmonella and are marked with its "birthdate." All eggs that are past 12 days from its birthdate are taken off and discarded.

This totally takes freshness to a different level indeed.

FINALLY, Fresh Produce!
What is a supermarket without fresh fruits and a very efficient way to maintain them? Sam's Club actually has pre-installed coolers in their Produce Walk-In area to keep these fresh for its customers! Talk about cool!

No wonder these cherries, bananas, and kiwis are looking so fresh, despite coming from faraway countries like Australia and the Philippines! All ready for us to take them home!

Discover, Learn and Experience de World!

During the Golden Week Holiday, a group of students from grades 7-12 traveled to Spain to return with their minds and hearts filled with life-long memories, friendships and more importantly with the experience of having traveled to Europe, for the first time, for many of them.

Through the week the students took Spanish language lessons, tailored to their level and needs every morning, and during the afternoon they ventured out to explore the best of Madrid.

The visits included the impressive Royal Palace, where they learned how royalty lived; the Reina Sofia art center, home of "El Guernica", Picasso's masterpiece; and a day trip visit to picturesque Toledo.

During the trip, they also enjoyed different cultural experiences, including a wonderful Flamenco dance evening, and two Real Madrid soccer matches.

As they stayed at a local student residence, the students got a taste for college living and enjoyed delicious Spanish home-made food!

At HIS we believe in providing opportunities for students to gain understanding and experiences that link their learning to reality, and it was great to see how the students were able to put their language skills into practice, making historic and cultural connections to what they were seeing and experiencing directly.

Special thanks to the parents who trusted us and supported this trip, to the chaperones, and the accompanying parents for being such great companions.

Once a Dragon, always a Dragon!
